MasterBar is made by Sjoerd Huissoon in the Netherlands, under the name SYIRD. This page explains what personal data MasterBar and this website use, and why. In short: very little.
MasterBar measures the audio Ableton Live plays, on your own Mac. That audio is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. The app does not collect usage statistics and has no account.
To offer new versions, MasterBar checks for updates on our update server about once a day. That request contains the version of MasterBar you have, and like any internet request it reaches the server with your IP address. It is used for nothing else.
MasterBar keeps its settings on your Mac, including the date you first opened it. That date stays on your Mac. It exists so a future paid version can recognise that you started during the free beta and keep it free for you.
If you leave your email address, we use it only to tell you about new versions and news about MasterBar. You first get one email to confirm. Without that confirmation you get nothing else.
We rely on your consent for this. You can withdraw it at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email, after which your address is no longer used for mailings.
The list is managed with Kit (Kit.com, United States), which stores the addresses and sends the emails on our behalf. Kit works under the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for data sent outside the EU. We never sell your address or pass it on to anyone else.
masterbar.app is hosted by Cloudflare. Like every web host, Cloudflare handles technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. This site sets no tracking cookies and uses no advertising or analytics trackers.
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to its use. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
